National Seminar on “Green Finance for Sustainable Development” on Saturday

Mysuru: The Vidyavardhaka First Grade College, P.G. Centre, Mysuru, has organised a one-day National-level Seminar on the topic “Green Finance for Sustainable Development: Challenges & Opportunities” on Saturday (Feb. 9).

The seminar will be inaugurated by Prof. Prakash Kammaradi, Chairman, Karnataka Agricultural Price Commission, Bengaluru, tomorrow at 9 am  at its Sri P.M. Chikkaboraiah Auditorium.

Gundappa Gowda, President, Vidyavardhaka Sangha,  P. Vishwanath, Secretary, S.N. Lakshminarayana, Treasurer, will be the chief guests.

The keynote address will be delivered by Prof. G. Kotreshwar, Retd. Professor of DoS Commerce, University of Mysore.

The Technical session-1 will be held from 10.30 am to 11.45 am on the topic “Modalities of Green Financing & its Challenges”  which will be presided over by Dr. Shubha, Professor & Director, School of Management Studies, REVA University, Bengaluru. Dr. R. Siva Ram Prasad, Professor Commerce and Business Administration, Acharya Nagarjuna University, Andhra Pradesh will be the Resource Person.

The Technical Session-2 will be held from 11.45 am to 1 pm on the topic “Role of Financial Institutions in Mitigating Agricultural Risk.” Prof. B.H. Suresh, DoS in Commerce, Manasagangothri, will be the Chairperson. Dr. R.S. Srikantha Murthy, Associate Professor, Production & Resource Economic Agricultural Finance, University of Agricultural Sciences, GKVK, Bengaluru, will be the Resource Person.  Paper presentation session will begin at 2 pm. Dr. S. Anand, Professor, DoS in Business Administration, BIMS, UoM, will be the Chairperson and the Session will be Co-chaired by Dr. K.Nagendra Babu, Associate Professor, DoS in Commerce, Manasagangothri. Around 30 selected research papers will be presented.

The event will conclude with a Panel discussion at 3.30 pm on the topic “Role of Green Financing in Sustainable Development.”

Dr. Yashawantha Dongre, Professor of Commerce and Chairman, PMEB, UoM, will be the Moderator.
