National Seminar on ‘Prisms of Psychology in the Literary Realm’

Prof. Ami Upadhyay, Vice-Chancellor, Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar State Open University, Gujarat, to inaugurate

Mysuru: A two-day National Seminar on ‘Prisms of Psychology in the Literary Realm’ has been organised by Department of Studies and Research in English in collaboration with Department of Studies and Research in Psychology, Karnataka State Open University (KSOU), Mukthagangothri, Mysuru, at Cauvery Hall in KSOU premises on Nov. 29 and 30.

Nov. 29

10 am to 11 am – Inauguration: Prof. Ami Upadhyay, Vice-Chancellor, Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar State Open University, Gujarat, will inaugurate the Seminar. Prof. Sharanappa V. Halse, Vice-Chancellor, KSOU, will preside. Dr. Ajanta Sircar, Professor, Department of English, School of Social Sciences and Languages (SSL), VIT University, Vellore, will be the keynote speaker.

12.15 pm to 1.30 pm – Technical Session 1: ‘Psychoanalysis and Literary Theory: An Overview’ by Dr. Ajanta Sircar.

2.30 pm to 4.30 pm – Technical Session 2: ‘Psychology of Creativity and the Psyche of Literature’ by Prof. Pravesh Jung, Department of Humanities and Social Sciences, Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay.

Nov. 30

10.30 am to 12.30 pm – Technical Session 3: ‘Psychology and Literature’ by Prof. M. Sreenevas, Chairman, DoS in Psychology, Bangalore University, Jnanabharathi, Bengaluru.

2 pm to 4 pm – Technical Session 4: ‘Carl Jung and Literature’ by Prof. Sampath Kumar, Chairman, DoS in Psychology, University of Mysore, Manasagangothri, Mysuru.

4.15 pm to 5.30 pm – Valedictory programme: Prof. V. Srikantha Reddy, former Vice-Chancellor, Sri Venkateshwara University, Tirupathi, will be the chief guest.

Prof. K. B. Praveena, Registrar, KSOU, Dr. N. Lakshmi, Dean (Academic), KSOU, Dr. S. Srikanth, Chairman, Department of Studies and Research in English, KSOU and Dr. P. Manjunath, Chairman, Department of Studies and Research in Psychology, KSOU, will be present on the both the days.
