Natl. Conference on “Human Microbiome” from tomorrow

Mysuru: The Division of Molecular Biology, Department of Water and Health – Faculty of Life Sciences, JSS Academy of Higher Education & Research (Deemed to be University), Mysuru, in association with Indian Association of Applied Microbiologists (IAAM), is hosting the 16th IAAM National Conference on the theme “Human Microbiome in personal medicine – Bridging Humans & Microbes for Future Sustainability” on Sept.27 and 28.

The event will host international scientists from the US and Malaysia, while in India the theme has attracted participants from 6 States.

Sri Shivarathri Deshikendra Swamiji will inaugurate the conference tomorrow at 10 am at Rajendra Bhavan auditorium in the College. Dr. Penelope Duerksen-Hughes, Associate Dean, School of Medicine, Loma Linda University, USA and Dr. Aruni Wilson, Pro-Vice Chancellor, Sathyabama University, Chennai, will be the guests of honour. Dr. K.S. Manja, former Director of DRDO (Life Sciences), New Delhi, will be the chief guest. JSS Academy of Higher Education & Research Vice-Chancellor Dr. B. Suresh, Registrar Dr. B. Manjunatha, Director Academics Dr. P.A. Kushalappa, Director Research & Dean Faculty of Life Sciences Dr. S. Balasubramanian and Coordinator Faculty of Life Sciences Prof. G.K. Chandrashekarappa will be present. The valedictory function will take place at 4 pm on Sept.28.
