Natl. Seminar on ‘Cyber Security’ held

Mysuru: A one-day National Seminar on ‘Recent Trends in Internet of Things (IoT) and Cyber Security’ was organised jointly by the Department of CSE and ISE at the College premises here recently.

The seminar was digitally inaugurated by K.S. Sundar, Associate Vice-President, Global Education Centre, Infosys, Mysuru. He explained the scenario of changing arenas in IT world and emphasised the need to concentrate on Machine Learning, Expert System, IoT and other recent technologies that are critical to sustain in IT-industry, rather than concentrating only on programming and problem-solving skills.

Prof. T. Ananthapadmanabha, Principal of NIE-IT and Chief Co-ordinator of the Seminar, welcomed the gathering. He urged the student fraternity to utilise the ideas, electronic gadgets, concept of IoT and cyber security to come up with innovative projects that can meet various needs of society on day-to-day basis. Tomy Thomas highlighted the fundamentals of IoT. Lakshmi Lakshman Rao briefed on IoT Architecture and demonstrated the use of Arduino demo-kit along with explaining the use cases developed at Infosys. Victor Sundararaj elaborated on IoT Ideation and Market trends and Yogananda briefed on the importance of Cyber Security in IT world.

About 200 students and faculties of various colleges across the State, HoDs and staffs of various departments of NIE-IT attended the seminar.
