Mysuru: Sri Srinivasa Temple, started by a retired NRI couple with their pension funds and loan, has arranged a 10-day cultural and music festival at the Temple premises in Ramakrishnanagar I-Block near Tibbadevi Circle in city.
In keeping with their goal of encouraging upcoming artistes both local as well as from other parts of the country, Classical music, Bharatanatyam as well Bhajans, Pravachanas, Homas, culminating in Srinivasa Kalyanam on Vijayadashami Day (Sept.30) have been organised. The programme schedule is as follows:
Sept. 21 (5.30 pm): Vaishnavi Datta and Nakshap Rao (both students of Vid. C.N. Sridhar) and Bhoomika Venkatesh, student of Vidu. Srilatha, will perform. They will be accompanied by Prithvi, granddaughter of violinist Vid. H.K. Narasimhamurthy on violin and Skanda on mridanga.
Sept. 22 (5.30 pm): Karnatak vocal by Vid. Giridhar Koratagere from Bengaluru, a student of Vidyanidhi Vid. S. Shankar. He will be accompanied on violin by Vid. Arjun, a student of legendary Vid. H.K. Narasimhamurthy and on mridanga by Shashi Bhushan, a student of Anoor Anantha Krishna Sharma.
Sept. 23 (8.30 am): Vayustuthi Parayana; 5.30 pm: Karnatak vocal by Sreya Bheemesh (student of Vidu. Lakshmi Varun and Vid. Thirumale Srinivas) accompanied by Vid. Srinath on violin, Vid. Gurudutt on mridanga and Vid. Swamy on ghata.
Sept 24 (10 am): Dhanavanthri Homa; 5.30 pm: Bharathanatya by Amulya Katti and Ankitha.
Sept. 25: Bhajans; Sept. 26: Bharathanatya by Niveditha Mahesh; Sept. 27: Bhajans.
Sept. 28 (5.30 pm): Lalitha Sahasranama by Poorna Pragna Bhajane Mandali.
Sept. 28 (6.30 pm): Durga Puja; Sept. 29 (5.30 pm): Dasa Vani by Mysore Ramachandra Acharya and Party.
Sept. 30 (4 pm): Srinivasa Kalyana.
