June 8, 2024

Mysore/Mysuru: In an inspiring effort to sensitise young learners about pressing environmental issues, the NCC Cadets of Delhi Public School (DPS) Mysore, part of the 13 KAR BN NCC Mysuru, spearheaded a lake cleaning drive at Varuna Lake, Varuna hobli, Mysuru.

This initiative was conducted under the theme ‘Lifestyle for The World Environment Day’ as part of the ‘Punit Sagar Abhiyan.’

The drive saw the enthusiastic participation of 40 Cadets, who cheerfully dedicated their efforts to cleaning up the lake.

The Cadets collected an impressive 500 kgs of waste and plastic throughout the drive, significantly contributing to the lake’s restoration and cleanliness.

The team was led by Third Officer M. Mamatha Prasad, who ensured that the Cadets worked efficiently and safely.

Under her leadership, the Cadets not only engaged in the physical task of cleaning but also gained a deeper understanding of the impact of pollution and the importance of collective action in environmental conservation.
