NCC Land Army Unit of Suttur JSS High School gets ‘Best Institution Award’

C.P. Nirmala, NCC Land Army Officer, JSS High School, receiving the ‘Best Institution Award’ for the fourth consecutive year, accorded by Karnataka and Goa NCC, from Karnataka NCC 13th Batallion Commanding Officer Col. Manjitsingh Dadda and Col. Jagadish Nair in city recently.

Suttur: The NCC Land Army Unit of JSS High School, Suttur, was started in the year 2004. About 100 cadets are being trained here every year. Many of them have participated in several activities like the parade, singing, dance, sports, firing, etc., conducted by NCC, and have won prizes for the school.

Many of them also have earned the credit of taking part in the Taal Sainik, Republic Day Parade, Trekking, Basic Leadership camps, etc., and have brought laurels to the school. Considering all these achievements the NCC Land Army team of JSS High School has been accorded the ‘Best Institution’ award by the NCC Karnataka and Goa, for the year 2018.

Deputy Director General Brigadier D.M. Poorvik declared the ‘First Best Institution Award’, to the school at a programme held on Feb. 4, 2019, at the Mount Carmel College in Bengaluru. C.P. Nirmala, NCC Land Army Officer of JSS High School, Suttur, received the award on behalf of the school, from the Karnataka NCC 13th Batallion Commanding Officer Col. Manjithsingh Dadda and Col. Jagadish Nair, at a function held at the Maharaja’s College in Mysuru on Feb.8.
