Ncc Mysuru gets new Group Commander

Mysuru:  Col. P.T. Rajiv took  charge as NCC Group Commander, Mysuru, from Col. M.K. Belliappa, who superannuated on Mar.31, 2019. The Colonel was previously posted in NCC Directorate of Kerala and Lakshwadeep as Director.

Col. Rajiv was commissioned into 14 SIKH Regiment (Infantry) in March 1992. He has participated in many counter insurgency operations against terrorists in Jammu & Kashmir. He has also been involved in Operation Vijay (Kargil). The Officer was then side stepped from the Infantry to the Intelligence Corps of the Army where he was responsible for acquisition of Strategic Intelligence. He has thereafter commanded many Intelligence Units. The Officer is a recipient of the General Officer Commanding in Chiefs Commendation and Vice Chief of Army Staff Commendation for exceptional service.

There are eight Battallions under the NCC Group Mysuru including an Air Force and a Naval Unit. NCC Mysuru has around 10,000 Cadets enrolled from different schools and colleges in Mysuru and adjoining Districts.
