New District Hospital Doctors get uninterrupted food supplies

Mysore/Mysuru: With the New District Hospital  on KRS Road converted into a COVID-19 Care Hospital, some good Samaritans of the city have ensured that the Doctors of the Hospital, who are striving hard round the clock taking care of the patients, get timely food on a regular basis.

Dr. Dilip of Mysore Rotary Zone-8, who himself is a Doctor, has taken the initiative of supplying safe food to all the Doctors serving at the New District Hospital, which has a 150-bed COVID-19 Care and                                 Quarantine facility.

Dr. Dilip, taking the help of all Rotary Clubs in the city, has launched the initiative of supplying breakfast, lunch and dinner to about 200 Doctors at the Hospital who work in shifts. He is supported by Rotary Assistant Governor Subbu Roy.

The breakfast menu includes Idli-vada, Dosa, Kharabath, Bisibelebath etc., while the lunch menu includes Rice and Sambar, Chapathi, Poori, Ragi Roti, Rice Roti, Curds etc., and the dinner menu includes Palav, Veg Biryani, Rice etc., while a breakfast costs Rs.70, every parcel of  meal costs about Rs.100.

Speaking to SOM, Dr. Dilip said that a total of 200 Doctors who work in shifts and batches are supplied breakfast and meals daily. This catering  service started from Apr.1 and will continue till the end of this month.

Pointing out that Rotary Mysore, taking into consideration the service of Doctors who are working round the clock at the Hospital risking their lives, launched this novel initiative of supplying food to them.

“I, myself being a Doctor, know the responsibilities and duties of Doctors in difficult and trying times such as this one, where COVID-19 pandemic is creating havoc across the globe. I have launched this selfless initiative to supply food to the Doctors of the Hospital who are working round the clock,” he said and added that safety and hygiene is given utmost priority in food supplies.
