New Medical Colleges to be built on PPP model in 9 Districts

Davangere: Health and Medical Education Minister Dr. K. Sudhakar on Saturday said that the Government has an objective to build Medical Colleges on the PPP model in nine Districts across Karnataka.

Speaking to the media after visiting the new Medical College building here, he said there was a debate on building a Hospital on the PPP model and the same would be built in nine Districts. ”There is no College at Taluk-level and the matter has been requested and will be considered,” he said adding if there are four acres available in Davangere city, Jayadeva Cardiology Institute could be built.

So far two-and-a-half-crore vaccines have been administered in the State and more supply is expected from the Centre in the coming days, he said. ”The State Government is upgrading 250 Primary Health Centres. 2,500 centres in the State would be upgraded in five years,” he said.
