New Public Health Centre atop Chamundi Hill soon

December 24, 2017

Mysuru: The District Health Department in a bid to provide medical facilities atop Chamundi Hill has decided to open a new Public Health Centre (PHC) there which would come up soon.

A meeting in this regard was held recently and Deputy Commissioner D. Randeep has agreed to provide land for the construction of the PHC.

District Health Officer (DHO) Dr. B. Basavaraju said that the Government had sanctioned a PHC atop the hill but there is no land with the Health  Department.

The DC assured of allotting the land and said that the PHC was very much needed there as a few death cases were reported there in the recent past due to non availability of medical facilities.

Taluk Health Officer Dr. Ravi said that a dispensary was functioning atop the hill and added that the new PHC would have adequate staff including a doctor, nurse and assistants.
