New software to help Police in crime prevention, detection

Mysore/Mysuru: With the State Government launching software to integrate Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) to aid the Police Department in crime analysis and help senior citizens with their queries during the ongoing Annual Conference of Senior Police Officers in the State at Bengaluru on Tuesday, Mysuru City Police is all set to extend the new technologies in the coming days.

Speaking to Star of Mysore, Mysuru City Police Commissioner B. Ramesh said that the new software would be used in Bengaluru and depending on orders issued by DGP and IGP Alok Mohan, the same would be extended to the rest of the State including Mysuru. Ramesh also mentioned that the introduction of the new software would help in crime prevention and detection throughout the State.

The State Government launched softwares are:

Police IT-V2: The software helps Police from registering FIR to disposal of cases.

ITPA Saral Mobile App: This application will help the Police to get easy access to the documents, applicable laws and shelter homes for the victims of human trafficking.

Chatbot: ‘Police Mitra,’ the chatbot that has been created with the help of ChatGPT, will help the Department in addressing to the queries of the citizens related to traffic, cyber crime and issues related to children, women and senior citizens.

KSPAI: This software will help the Police Department in analysing the cases with identification of applicable laws and sections related to the cases without human intervention.

Economic Offences Investigation software: This will help in analysing bank statements by the investigators to identify anomalies, pattern recognition, irregularities and fraudulent activities.
