Mysuru, Oct. 31- Rajendra Kalbhavi, Secretary-General and President-Elect of Association of Consulting Civil Engineers (India) — ACCE(I) — installed the new team of office-bearers of ACCE(I) Mysore Centre for 2025-27 at a private hotel in city recently.
He administered oath of office to S.B Basavaraja (Chairman), C.S. Srikanth (Hon. Secretary), B.S. Keerthi Gowda (Hon. Treasurer) and Managing Committee Members — H.P. Sharath, Dr. H.P. Thanu, M.B. Vikram, V. Srinath and Nikhil Koundinya.
In his address, Rajendra Kalbhavi expressed deep admiration for the programmes organised by ACCE(I) Mysore Centre and complimented Team 2023-25.
Emphasising that civil engineers are the creators and movers of the world, he lamented that, unlike littérateurs, musicians and social workers who are often recognised with State honours during Kannada Rajyotsava celebrations, civil engineers are consistently overlooked.
He stressed the need for distinguished civil engineers, from every district, to be recognised and felicitated. Kalbhavi strongly felt that ACCE (I) should take the initiative to appeal to the State Government to include civil engineers for these prestigious awards.
Dr. K.S. Manjunath rendered the invocation. Outgoing Chairman Dr. S. Raviraj welcomed and thanked all the members.
Outgoing Secretary Dr. G.P. Chandradhara gave a power-point presentation on the activities conducted by the Centre during 2024-25 which included technical talks, seminars, symposia, project visits, industrial outreach programmes, counselling and practical training to civil engineering students, family get-togethers, tree-planting drives and participation in the technical events organised by the headquarters.
Hon. Secretary C.S. Srikanth proposed a vote of thanks. Ashwin Palegar anchored the programme.
