Newly-wed ends life after husband meets with accident

Mysuru: A 24-year-old woman, reportedly committed suicide by hanging self at her house in Gangothri Layout here yesterday after her husband sustained injuries in an accident on Friday.

The deceased woman has been identified as Akshatha, a native of Batkal in Mangaluru district, who had married one Veeresh, a native of Raichur.

Akshatha and Veeresh fell in love through facebook and got married about seven months ago and were staying in the house in Gangotri Layout here.

Veeresh, who was working in a private firm, had got a job in the Woman and Child Welfare Department about 15 days ago.

On Friday, Veeresh was returning home after work, when he met with an accident near Ballal Circle and was shifted to a hospital by the public where he was provided treatment. When he returned home after being treated, Akshatha was shocked to see her husband in bandages and became depressed.

On Saturday, when Veeresh went to the Police Station to get his bike, Akshatha allegedly committed suicide by hanging self and the incident came to light when Veeresh returned home after an hour. A case has been registered at Saraswathipuram Police Station in this regard.
