Mysore/Mysuru: A newly-wed couple from Tumakuru, seeking protection, has sought help from Mysuru District Police claiming threat to their lives.
The newly-wed couple — Krupa and Dharanesh — residents of Sanganahalli village in Gubbi taluk of Tumakuru District, who arrived at the Office of the Mysuru District Superintendent of Police (SP) yesterday, sought protection.
Krupa and Dharnesh, who were in love, had got married much to the opposition from the bride’s father. Sensing threat to their lives, the couple came to the SP Office and sought protection.
“We are both majors and married with mutual consent. We fear threat from my father. We need protection,” Krupa said.
Additional SP C. Mallik told Star of Mysore that the newly- wed couple from Tumakuru had come to the office seeking protection. “I told them to be brave and asked them to lodge a complaint at the Women’s Police Station,” he added.
When contacted, the woman Police Inspector said that the Additional SP had instructed her to register a case and give protection. But no one had come to the Police Station, she clarified.
