Mysore/Mysuru: Mysuru city-based NGO Samskruthi Women Sphere, as part of its Vana Mitra Project, distributed daily-use essentials items to 50 tribal families residing in the remote Annemalu region of the Nagarahole forest area.
As part of the initiative, the NGO distributed 100 blankets, 100 steel plates and tumblers, 100 sarees, 100 mats, 100 T-shirts, 100 nighties, bangles, bindis, sanitary pads, fruits and snacks to the tribal families.
The distribution brought visible joy and relief to the beneficiaries, who expressed heartfelt gratitude to the organisation.
Members of Samskruthi Women Sphere also interacted with the tribal families, understanding their challenges and strengthening bonds of trust and compassion. The team also visited a nearby tribal school, where food was served to the children, adding warmth and nourishment to their day.
Speaking on the occasion, representatives of Samskruthi Women Sphere President Sridevi Bhoopalam said that the Vana Mitra Project aims to build a meaningful connection between society and forest-dwelling communities, ensuring dignity, care and basic necessities for those living in marginalised regions.
“The project stands as a testament to Samskruthi Women Sphere’s ongoing commitment to tribal welfare, women empowerment and inclusive social development, reinforcing the belief that collective compassion can create lasting change,” she added.
Samskruthi Women Sphere Secretary Keerthi Ramesh, Treasurer Nanda Lokesh, Vice-President Archana Basavaraj, Cultural Director Shilpa Sundeep, Service Director Rashmi Nagendra, Project Convenor Sapna Madhusudan, Directors Asha Ramesh and Reka and Youth Directors Vyshnavi Vishnu, Amulya Darshan and Madhu took part in the event.
