Mysuru: National Institute of Engineering (NIE) together with Mysore City Inter-Collegiate Tournaments (MCICT) Committee 2017-18 had organised an Inter-Collegiate Weight-Lifting and Best Physique Championship for Men at NIE Diamond Jubilee Indoor Sports Complex on Manandavadi Road here today.
About 80 students from various colleges participated in the Tournament. Dr. K. Pushpalatha, Chairperson, NIE Sports Committee, inaugurated the event.
Dr. B.N. Asha, Principal, Onkarmal Somani College of Education, Mysuru and President, MCICT was the chief guest. College Principal Dr. G. Ravi presided over the inaugural.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Asha opined that sportiveness was essential for all sportsperson where losing or winning was part of a cycle which should be taken in the right spirit.
NIE Physical Education Director H.N. Shankaranarayana, Assistant Director Kavya, MCICT Convenor N. Subramanya and others were present.
