NIE signs MoU with AgFlex to develop medical products

Mysuru:  National Institute of Engineering (NIE) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with AgFlex Technologies Limited to develop products for  medicinal purpose.

The collaboration is aimed at to aid students have a better understanding of industry through interactions and further nurture research abilities among students, according to a         press release.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Rohini Nagapadma, HoD, Electronics & Communication Engineering Department, NIE, said: “NIE is very glad to have this MoU signed up with Advanced Noble Synergies. Electronics & Communication Engineering students will benefit from the synergy of industry and institution towards building solutions for tomorrow. They will work on R&D projects as well as pursue internship in the firm.”

Mysuru-based AgFlex Technologies has been the pioneer of silver based technology in India. They have carried out research for several years to come up with a unique technology to be able to metalise various substrates with silver. AgFlex works to develop state-of-the-art technology based products for all. The MoU with NIE aims at providing industry exposure to students and further sponsor worthy projects.

Speaking about the collaboration, Umesh Kothari, Managing Director, AgFlex Technologies, said: “This association will realise significant benefits to all of us starting with the students who will work on various projects. They will gain significant industry knowledge as far as R&D process is concerned. Furthermore, students will also develop the ability to be disruptive innovators.”
