Nine child labourers rescued

Mysore/Mysuru: In a joint operation, the officials and personnel of the Mysuru District Police Anti Human Trafficking Unit, Mysuru District Defense Unit, Mysuru District Special Police Unit, Child Helpline, Social Welfare Department and an NGO have rescued nine children working as child labourers at various shops in Bannur and T. Narasipur towns.

All the nine children were produced in front of the Child Welfare Committee Chairperson.

One child who was begging on the roadside was sent with the parents while the remaining eight children are housed in Boys Balamandir in Vijayanagar here.

The rescue operation was led by Mysuru Rural Sub-Division Dy.SP M.S. Poornachandra Tejaswi with V.D. Mamatha, Yasmin Taj, Harish Kumar, A. Dakshayani, Ram Prasad and Driver Chikkalingaiah in the team, according to a press release from Women Police  Station Inspector.
