Nineteen elected as Directors of Mysuru-Chamarajanagar Vokkaligara Sangha

Mysuru: Nineteen Directors were elected in the polls held for Mysuru-Chamarajanagar Vokkaligara Sangha here yesterday.

Out of the 27 posts of Directors, eight were declared elected unopposed earlier and the polls were held for electing 19 Directors, for which 56 candidates had contested.

The counting of votes was taken up at the Vokkaligara Samudaya Bhavan in Vidyaranyapuram after polling ended at 3 pm yesterday.

Those elected for Director posts from Mysuru city were C. Mariswamy (1,983 votes), R. Ravikumar (1,621 votes), N. Prakash (1,541), Gururaj (1,464), Prasanna Lakshmana (1,371), G. Kumara Gowda (1,351), M.E. Chetan (1,170), Susheela Nanjappa (1,098), A. Ravi (1,097), B.E. Girish Gowda (1,096), Boregowda (1,024), S. Umesh (1,018), R. Lokesh (1,018) and K.P. Naganna (986).

The other Directors declared elected were Jayaram (390 votes) from Mysuru taluk, Gopal (96) from Nanjangud taluk, B.C. Mahesh (369) from T. Narasipur taluk, P. Prashanth Gowda (91) from Periyapatna taluk and M.K. Srinivas (301) from  K.R. Nagar taluk.

Those declared elected unopposed earlier were H.N. Sudhir (H.D. Kote), H.K. Naganna (Hunsur taluk), P.H. Raju (Chamarajanagar), R. Jayaram (Gundlupet taluk), A. Kumar (Yelandur taluk) and T.N. Santosh Kumar (Kollegal taluk), while G. Manju and M. Shivakumar from Mysuru were elected as patrons of  the Sangha.

Assistant Registrar of Co-operative Societies K.S. Harish Kumar was the Returning Officer.
