Nirantara Kalemane Fest to feature Salake Sutrada Bombeyata

Mysore/Mysuru: Kumar Performing Arts Centre (KPAC), Mysuru, has organised the 67th International Special Nirantara Kalemane Festival at its Kalemane Sabhaangana in Hebbal 2nd Stage tomorrow (Dec. 28) at 2.30 pm.

The chief guests for the festival will be N. Srivatsa, Principal, Sri Chamarajendra School for Excellence, Mysuru, R. Jnaneshwar Singh, art patron, Mysuru and Dr. Jamunarani V. Mirle, a multi-talented artiste, Mysuru.

Special dance troupes participating in this Festival are as follows:

Students of Shakti School of Bharatanatyam, Los Angeles, USA, founded by senior dance guru Viji Prakash, will present a special Bharatanatyam dance programme titled ‘Samarpan.’

It will be followed by ‘Salake Sutrada Bombeyata’ (one of Karnataka’s ancient and rare folk art forms), which will be presented in a traditional classical style, by the artistes of Sutramela Puppet Theatre, Bengaluru — Story ‘Sri Krishna Parijata’ has been directed by Ravindra Narahari.

Thirdly, students of Aarathi Arun, Director and Guru of Sri Ganesha Sangeeta Nrityalaya Charitable Trust, Mysuru, will present a Bharatanatyam dance programme. Entry to the Festival is free.
