Mysore: Nirmiti Kendra in association with District Administration and Department of Labour had organised a programme at its premises in Bogadi 2nd stage here this morning where tool kits were distributed to construction workers and electricians who have completed the one month specialist training. The tool kits were presented to 66 construction workers and 21 electricians.
Presiding over the function, Zilla Panchayat CEO K. Jyothi hailed the training as very good as it also incorporated yoga to manage health and develop good concentration. She advised the construction workers not to be lured by alcohol and tobacco and asked them to take good care of their families. She asserted that the workers should weigh both quality and safety during construction.
Assistant Labour Commissioner Thammanna observed that new technology was being incorporated in construction sector which should be advocated by the construction workers. He rued that the sector continues to be unorganised and added that the Government was trying its best to help the sector.
Construction worker Veerabhadra and electricians Vijaykumar and Thimmaraju, speaking to Star of Mysore said that the training was very good and had provided them enough confidence to go ahead on their own.
Nirmiti Kendra Project Director M.T. Manjunath, Project Engineer H.B. Satish, UltraTech technical services Manager Y. Somashekar, Patanjali Yoga Foundation teacher Nagabhushan and others were present.
