‘I need a month to prepare for a dance performance’
Mysuru: Renowned actor Prabhu Deva said he had been watching the Jumboo Savari procession on television every year, after missing the celebrations despite receiving invitations in the past.
Addressing a press meet at a hotel in the city this noon, Prabhu Deva said this time, he will attend the festivities along with his mother and other family members. His father, however, will be unable to attend as he is unwell, he said.
“Following a suggestion to seek passes, I have secured 75 passes for Yuva Dasara. I have also appealed to the authorities to provide me with a pass for the Jumboo Savari procession on Oct. 21,” he said.
Asked whether he would perform at the Yuva Dasara inauguration, Prabhu Deva said he was unaware that dance performances were part of the event.
“I need a month to practise for a dance performance here. I will surely present a dance show next year if I get an invitation,” he said.
Commenting on Tamil Nadu Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay, Prabhu Deva said Vijay was running the administration well.
Yuva Dasara Sub-Committee office-bearers SP Mallikarjun Baladandi, MCC Deputy Commissioner (Revenue) J. Somashekar and other committee members were present at the press meet.
