No Director for Rangayana leaves Moily miffed

Mysuru: Former Chief Minister Dr. M. Veerappa Moily said that he would talk to Chief Minister Siddharamiah and request him to appoint Director for Rangayana at the earliest. He was speaking after releasing ‘Samagra Nataka Samputa’ authored by D.A. Shankar at a function organised at Dr. Sri Shivarathri Rajendra Auditorium at JSS Hospital premises, here yesterday.

Stating that there were not much theatre activities in Kalamandira, Moily said that only new theatre experiments could attract people towards theatre.

“Theatre activities have vanished even from schools as people are inclined towards television. There is a need to create awareness about theatre to new audience,” he added.

Senior Theatrist Prof. H.S. Umesh, Litterateur Dr. C.P. Krishna Kumar, MLA Vasu,Publisher D.M. Lokappa and author D.A. Shankar and others were present.
