‘Nobility of Nursing profession should be retained’

JSS hosts Dedication Ceremony of B.Sc (Nursing) students

A Dedication Ceremony of 20th batch of Basic B.Sc. (Nursing) students was organised by JSS College of Nursing at Rajendra auditorium in JSS Hospital premises here recently.

Over 90 first year B.Sc (Nursing) students were administered the oath to preserve the dignity of the noble profession by serving with dedication and humility.

Addressing the students, Prof. B.G. Kulkarni, Retired Professor, Government College of Nursing, Bengaluru, asked the nursing students to face the problems in their career as challenges retaining a service motto always.

She advised students to abide by the rules and ethics of medical profession which was a very responsible sector needing continuous attention and dedication.

She further said that some of the nurses were foregoing their ideals and looking for greener pastures abroad and added that such a trend was not welcome in the interest of the service-oriented profession.

Dr. M.S. Vishveshwara, Medical Superintendent, HCG Bharath Hospital and Institute of Oncology, inaugurated the programme. R. Mahesh, Director, Medical Education Division, Janet Mathias, Deputy Chief of Nursing Services, JSS Hospital, College Principal Prof. Sheela William and others were present.
