Nodal Officer to take care of COVID-19 orphaned children

Mysore/Mysuru: As the second wave of the deadly COVID-19 virus continues to take its toll, the State Government on Monday appointed  K.P. Mohan Raj, a senior bureaucrat to take care of children who are orphaned by the death of their parents due to COVID.

In the order issued yesterday, N. Manjunatha Prasad, Revenue Department Principal Secretary, who is also the Member-Secretary of the Executive Committee of Karnataka State Disaster Management Authority, said that Mohan Raj, IAS Officer and Inspector General of Registration and Commissioner of Stamps, has been appointed as the Nodal Officer to identify COVID-19 orphaned children in order to provide all necessary facilities and support to them. 

The Nodal Officer will also be responsible for making long- term arrangements to take care of such children.
