Dr. Syed Shakeeb-ur-Rahman, former Principal, Sri Jayacha-marajendra College of Engineering (SJCE) and Dean, Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU), has been Co-opted as Member of the Executive Council of VTU, for a record fourth term, recognising his contribution towards development of VTU. Dr. Rahman has also served VTU as a Member of the Academic Senate and Chairman, Board of Studies, Civil Engineering, for two terms during 2007 and 2013.
