Noopur team to present Kathak at BVB tomorrow

Mysore/Mysuru: As part of its monthly cultural programme, Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan (BVB), Mysuru Kendra, has organised Kathak recital by Hari & Chethana and team — Nidhika, Sirisha, Varuni, Udisha and Seema Krishnan — of Noopur Performing Arts Centre, Bengaluru, at BVB’s Thathachari auditorium in Vijayanagar 1st Stage at  6 pm on Jan. 17.

Hari-Chethana, a celebrated Kathak dance couple and directors of Noopur Performing Arts Centre, have mesmerised audiences worldwide with over 1,000 captivating performances. Their art has graced prestigious platforms across India and earned them invitations to perform for royalty, including the King of Ipoh, the Sheikh of Dubai, and the Princess of Jordan.

Representing Indian culture globally, they have performed in Luxembourg, Germany, Sri Lanka, Switzerland, Netherlands, Indonesia, France, UK, USA, Singapore, Malaysia, Dubai, Doha, Saudi Arabia and Kuwait.

Hari’s illustrious journey has been adorned with accolades like Aryabhatta Award, Kempegowda State Award and the National Peace Award from Sri Lanka.

In recent years, Chethana has expanded her artistic endeavours into Kannada film industry. She has appeared in movies like Vedha, Yudha Kanda and Kamoruttu Part 2, showcasing her versatility as both a dancer and actress.

As an empanelled artiste with ICCR and a former Kathak teacher at the Gandhi Centre in Netherlands, Hari has collaborated with stalwarts like Dr. Balamuralikrishna, Hariharan, Shankar Mahadevan and Grammy award-winner Ricky Kej.
