Bengaluru: Maintaining that it will not be difficult for the BJP to win the forthcoming Karnataka Assembly polls, BJP National President Amit Shah has stressed on the need for unity among party leaders in the State to achieve victory.
Addressing the party leaders at a hotel near Yelahanka on the outskirts of Bengaluru on Sunday, Amit Shah pointing out that the BJP had won two Muslim dominated States recently, reiterated that it would not be difficult for the party to win Karnataka, a Hindu dominated State.
Reading out a 12-point charter to win in Assembly segments where the party has a weak base, Shah gave some useful tips to the party leaders on working out election strategy for ousting the Congress Government in the State.
Shah, who tasked the party leaders with district responsibilities, said that he may himself tour all the districts of the State, if the leaders failed in performing the assigned tasks.
Warning State BJP Chief and former CM B.S. Yeddyurappa against announcing the party candidates at Parivartana Rallies, Shah said that it was the party’s central leadership which issue the party ticket and not anyone else.
Advising the party leaders against disclosing the party’s poll plans in public, Shah said that he would visit the State again on Jan.9 and would take part in the party’s convention at Chitradurga on Jan.10.
Asking the party leaders to begin preparations for holding a host of rallies across the State involving youths, women, backward classes etc., he urged the party Legislators to extensively tour the Assembly segments which they are entrusted with and give feedback to the party’s national leaders.
Union Ministers Ananth Kumar, D.V. Sadanandagowda and Prakash Javadekar, party’s Central leader and former Union Minster Purandareshwari, State BJP Chief B.S. Yeddyurappa, MP Prahlad Joshi, Opposition leaders in both Houses Jagadish Shettar and K.S. Eshwarappa and others were present.
Former Minister and State BJP Vice-President V. Sreenivasa Prasad, who had recently lashed out against Union Minister Anant Kumar Hegde and former MLC G. Madhusudan for their reported remarks against the Constitution, was conspicuous by his absence.
