With just four days left for the much awaited IPL Season 10, the cricket tournament witnessed top players being ruled out or opting themselves out for the upcoming season. The most affected team would be Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) which will miss its skipper Virat Kohli and K.L. Rahul, who are both suffering shoulder injury. While Kohli is expected to be back in the team after two weeks, Rahul has been ruled out for the entire season.
The list of injured players also includes with Ravichandran Ashwin (Rising Pune Supergiant) and Murali Vijay (Kings XI Punjab) opting to skip the tournament owing to injury. Ashwin is expected to be ready for the for India’s title defence at the ICC Champions Trophy in June.
If reports are to be believed, Ravindra Jadeja (Gujarat Lions) and Umesh Yadav (Koltaka Knight Riders) will sit out the initial stages of the T20 league to rest after a long home series.
Earlier, South African player J.P. Duminy (Delhi Daredevils) withdrew from IPL-10 owing to personal reason. Another hard-hitting wicket-keeper batsman Quinton de Kock also of Delhi Daredevils has been ruled out of the tournament after suffering tendon damage. Pune Supergaint player Mitchell Marsh of Australia has also been ruled out after undergoing a shoulder injury.
With the teams missing out on important players just before the start of the tournament the team managements have gone into a huddle to chalk-out new strategies ahead of the tournament. IPL Season 10 starts kick-starts on Apr. 5 and the final will be held on May. 21.
