Noted violinist inaugurates Kalothsavam at St. Thomas School

St. Thomas Institutions, Vishweshwaranagar, Mysuru, recently celebrated Kalothsavam – 2026, the Annual School Cultural Fest themed “Samanvaya: Harmony of Culture,Values and Responsibility.”

Noted violin maestro Dr. Mysore Manjunath was the chief guest. Rev. Shaiju P. John, Manager, St. Thomas Institutions, Mysuru, presided.

In his inaugural address, Dr. Mysore Manjunath highlighted the universal power of music, observing that “Music is divine and everyone can enjoy it.” He emphasised that music transcends language, culture, age and social boundaries and has the unique ability to bring people together.

Students participated in a variety of category-wise competitions, including Recitation, Elocution, Versification and Extempore in English, Hindi and Kannada. These events provided students with valuable opportunities to develop their communication skills, imagination, confidence, spontaneous thinking and appreciation of language and literature.

The Fest also featured common intra-school cultural competition, including dance-drama Margam Kali, which added colour.
