Mysuru: For this Assembly election in the State, Election Commission will be despatching Photo Voter Slips to voter’s residences coming under the jurisdiction of the corresponding polling booths. The Voters Slips will be delivered by the Booth Officer one week before the poll date.

If the voter is not available, the slips will be handed over to the Constituency Returning Officers in a sealed envelope. Henceforth, the voters need not depend on party candidates or other agents for getting the slips which was a practice all these years.

Political parties and agents used to set up pendals near polling booths on the election day to distribute voter slips which used to give room for malpractices.

The new system will be convenient and transparent. The slip will be handed over only to the voter and nobody else.
