Nritya Samarpane by Dr. Aagnika Ajaikumar

July 18, 2024

Mysore/Mysuru: Dr. Aagnika Ajaikumar (Vidushi), disciple of Vidwan Sridhar Jain from Sri Nimishambha School of Dance, Mysuru, will be presenting Nritya Samarpane at three different places.

To start with she will be performing at Jaganmohan Palace in city on July 20 at 5.45 pm followed by at Shivamogga (Kuvempu Rangamandira) on July 27 at 5.30 pm and in Bengaluru (Chowdaiah Memorial Hall) on Aug. 4 at 5.30 pm.

She will also be showcasing a unique concept of Ardhanarishwaram in the second half of the performance in Mysuru. Pramoda Devi Wadiyar will be chief guest. Renowned violinist Mysore Nagaraj and noted Bharatanatyam Dancer – Teacher Vidushi Anuradha Shridhar will be the guests of honour.

Addressing media persons at Pathrakarthara Bhavan in city yesterday, Vid. Sridhar Jain said Aagnika, daughter of Bhagya Ajaikumar and Dr. B.S. Ajaikumar, has treaded a tightrope walk to pursue two seemingly disparate aspirations of being a doctor and a dancer. She has completed her final year of MBBS at M.S. Ramaiah Medical College, Bengaluru and is pursuing her Post Vidwat in Bharatanatyam under Guru Vidwan Sridhar Jain.

“Aagnika’s tryst with dancing began at the same time when she took to walking. She was only three-and-a-half-year-old when she and her twin sister enrolled for the tutelage of Guru Vidwan Sridhar Jain.  Under her Guru’s guidance, she became the youngest dancer to do her Rangapravesha at the age of 9 in 2010 at Jaganmohan Palace. The year after, she performed a solo “Nritya Sambrama” at Ravindra Kalakshetra, Bengaluru.

Her Guru has been the driving force and key influence in fuelling her ascent as an adept Bharatanatyam dancer of phenomenal potential. She owes all her success and fulfilment to the transcendental essence and significance of this Guru-Shishya bond. Aagnika aspires to pursue her excellence in both dance and medical field. One of her greatest interests is in choreography. Her family leaves no stone unturned to help her dive deep and soar higher, added Sridhar Jain.

Dr Ajaikumar, Founder & Executive Chairman of Health Care Global Enterprises Ltd. (HCG) and Founder of non-profit Bharat Hospital Institute of Oncology (BHIO), Mysuru, who also spoke, said “Bharatanatyam helps in overall development of an individual. In days to come we are planning to set up an institute / academy at rural and urban places.”
