Nrityagiri Nrityavimshati: Youth Dance Fest this weekend

A youth dance festival titled ‘Nrityagiri Nrityavimshati – Nrityalokadalli Ondu Payana’ has been organised at Ganabharathi on Adichunchanagiri Road in Kuvempunagar here this weekend on Mar. 25 and 26, under the aegis of Nrityagiri Performing Arts and Research Centre, Mysuru.

Mar. 25: Inauguration by Karnataka Kalashri Prof. M. Shakunthala, former Principal, Fine Arts College, University of Mysore, at 4 pm. H. Chennappa, Asst. Director, Kannada & Culture, will be the chief guest. Natyacharya Prof. K. Ramamurthy Rao, Director, ‘Noopura Kalavidaru’ Samskrutika Trust, Mysuru, will preside over the inaugural.

Felicitation: Vidu. Chandramati, Vidu. Pankaja Ramakrishnaiah, Dr. A.S. Kanchana, Dr. A.S. Lalitha, Vidu. Krishnaveni Rangarao and Vidu. Lalitha Rao will be felicitated on the occasion.

Exhibition-Cum-Sale: ‘Aahaaryam,’ an expo-cum-sale of dance costumes, jewellery  and make-up, has been organised at the venue. Dr. C.G. Narasimhan, President, Ganabharathi and Dr. Shanti Narasimhan, retd. Scientist, CFTRI, Mysuru, will inaugurate the expo.

Students of following dance schools will present Bharatanatyam from 5 pm onwards:

Aayama Academy of Fine Arts (Director – Vidu. Shambhavi), Nandana Performing Arts Centre Trust (Vidu. Varija Nalige), Umamaheshwari Nritya Kalashetra (Srilakshmi Kumar) and Vasundhara Performing Arts Centre (Dr. Vasundhara Doraswamy).

Mar. 26: From 10 am to 8.30 pm, Bharatanatyam recital by students of the following dance schools:

Bharatanjali School of Dance (Dr. Sheela Shridhar), Bhushans’ Academy of Performing Arts & Visual Presentation (Vid. Badri Divya Bhushan and Vidu. Dr. Anjana Bhushan), Brahmavidya School of Dance (Vidu. Radhika Nandakumar), Ganabharathi School of Dance (Vidu. V. Suma), Dr. Gangubai Hangal Music and Performing Arts University (students of Dance Department), Gurudeva Academy of Fine Arts (Dr. Chethana Radhakrishna), Kalasandesha Pratishatana (Vid. Sandesh Bhargav), Krishne Dance School (Vidu. Dimple), Nandini Nrityalaya Trust (Vid. Kannan), Nartana School (Vidu. Vijayamurthy), Nrutya Vidyapeetha (Vidu. C.N. Anitha),  Nrityalaya Trust (Dr. Tulsi Ramachandra), Noopura Kalavidaru Trust (Prof. K. Ramamurthy Rao), Sri Nataraja Performing Arts Centre (Vidu. Nagashri Phanindrakumar) and Nrityagiri Performing Arts Centre (Vidu. Kripa Phadke).
