Nrityagiri to present Bharatanatyam Rangapravesha of Ranjitha tomorrow

Mysuru/Mysore: Nrityagiri  Academy of Performing Arts and Research Centre, Srirampura, Mysuru, will present the Bharatanatyam Rangapravesha of N.S. Ranjitha, disciple of Guru Vidushi Dr. Kripa Phadke on Jan.11  at 6 pm at Jaganmohan Palace auditorium in city.

Sri Shivarathri Deshikendra Swamiji will grace the occasion.

Prof. C. Ramaswamy, Principal, College of Fine Arts, University of Mysore, Vid. Ashwath Harithas, Director, Srividya Foundation, Bengaluru, will be the chief guests. Dr. H.K. Ramanath, renowned Senior Theatre Artist and Kannada Rajyotsava Awardee, will preside.

Guruvandana will be offered to Guru Vidushi Dr. Kripa Phadke Director, Nrityagiri,  on the occasion. 

The Musical ensemble includes: Guru Dr. Kripa Phadke on nattuvanga,  Vidu. Rajeshwari Pandit on vocal, Vid. H.L. Shivashankaraswamy on mridanga and Vid. A.P. Krishna Prasad on flute. 

 Promising Artist 

N.S. Ranjitha, a promising artiste, hails from the cultural city of Mysuru. She is the daughter of M. Shivakumaraswamy (Lecturer in Marimallappa PU College) and A.G. Komala. She has an elder sister N.S. Anusha (Supply Quality Engineer at Collins Aerospace, Bengaluru) and a younger brother N.S. Subramanya (pursuing Engineering at Vidya Vikas College of Engineering, Mysuru). 

Ranjitha developed keen interest in art field at a very young age and started her Bharatanatyam career under the guidance of Guru. Vidu. Rupashree. Later, she continued under Dr. Vidu. Kripa Phadke. Ranjitha has completed her Junior and Senior Grade Bharatanatyam examinations conducted by Karnataka Board with flying colours. She has also completed her Junior Grade Karnatak Music Exam conducted by Karnataka Board under the guidance of Guru Vidu. Padma. She is currently preparing for Vidwath Examinations in Bharatanatyam and also pursuing First Year Master of Arts in Bharatanatyam from Tiruchirappalli Diocesan Educational Society through distance education. 

Ranjitha completed her schooling and Pre-University education from Christ the King Convent School (CKC) and Marimallappa PU College, Mysuru. She completed Computer Science Engineering from SSIT College,Tumakuru. She has also earned her Master’s in Computer Engineering from M.S. Ramaiah Institute of Technology. Currently, Ranjitha is working as a software professional engineer at Cisco Systems India, Bengaluru. 

Not just studies and dance, but she has also won many prizes in inter-State debate competitions and Project presentations.

Ranjitha has performed in various dance programmes: Dasara festival at Mysore Palace,  Kamsale in Ganabharathi, Janapadajathre in Suttur, Nrityagiri’s Nrityanamana, Vande Mataram and many more.

Guru Vidushi Dr. Kripa Phadke, an accomplished artiste of classism, is a versatile choreographer of aesthetics and an epitome of expert creativity. Hailing from the artistic land of Belthangadi, a village in South Canara district, she is an exponent of the Pandanallur style of Bharatanatyam.
