Nrityagiri to present ‘Phadke Kala Smriti’ at RamaGovinda Rangamandira on May 1

Mysore/Mysuru: Nrityagiri Performing Arts & Research Centre, Mysuru, led by its Director Dr. Kripa Phadke, in association with Kannada & Culture Department, Bengaluru, has organised the following programmes as part of ‘Phadke Kala Smriti’ at RamaGovinda Rangamandira in Ramakrishnanagar on May 1 between 10 am and 8.30 pm:

10 am: Saxophone recital by Vid. Harish Pandav, Mysuru. He will be accompanied by T.S. Yashaswi on violin, Vikram Bharadwaj on mridanga and Shamit S. Gowda on ghata.

10.45 am: Inauguration by RSS Pracharak P.R. Krishnamurthy, Bengaluru, Kannada & Culture Mysuru Joint Director V.N. Mallikarjunaswamy and Assistant Director H. Channappa will be present.

11 am: Harikatha Sankeertana by Pt. Dattatreya Velankar, Bengaluru. He will be accompanied by Yogeesh Bhat on tabla, Satyajit on harmonium and Abhay Damle on tala; 11.45 am: Tala-Maddala ‘Shoorpanakha.’ Arthadhari – Diwakara Hegde, Mysuru. Bhagavataru – Anantapadmanabha Phatak and Maddale – Chinmaya Ambaragodlu. 2 pm: Yakshagana ‘Panchavati’ by Chitpavana Mahila Yakshagana Mandali, Bengaluru. Bhagavataru – A.P. Phatak. Maddale – Chinmaya Ambaragodlu. Chande – Manoj Achar. Dance Training – Manoj Bhat. Mummela – Anupama Marathe, Sahana Dongre, Varsha Khadilkar, Shailaja Joshi, Bhuvana Dongre, Nayana Bheede, Shubha Gore, Sowmya Aathavale. Costume – Shankar, Hosur; 4 pm: Odissi dance by Vidu. Sindhu Kiran and troupe, Mysuru; 4.45 pm: Mohiniyattam by Vidu. Rekharaju and troupe, Bengaluru; 5.30 pm: Kathak dance feature ‘Binda k Shyaam’ by disciples of Vid. Mysore Nagaraj, Articulate Studio, Bengaluru. 6.30 pm: Bharatanatyam solo by Vijay Kumar, Chennai, accompanied by Vid. Prasannakumar, Bengaluru, on natuvanga. Vid. Rohit Bhat Uppur, Bengaluru, on vocal, Vid. Lingaraju, Bengaluru, on mridanga and Vid. A.P. Krishnaprasad, Mysuru, on flute.
