Dr. S.L. Bhyrappa to release the book ‘Tulasipriya Narthana Guccha’ at the valedictory on Mar. 5
Mysore/Mysuru: Nrityalaya Trust, Mysuru, in association with the Ministry of Culture, Government of India, has organised a two-day ‘Nalivina Payana-44 Haridasa Sahitya Sangeetha Nritya Sambrama’ at Ramagovinda Rangamandira in Ganabharathi premises on Adichunchanagiri Road in Kuvempunagar here on Mar. 4 and 5. The two-day event will feature various cultural programmes, book release and felicitation programme.
March 4
5 pm: Sri Hari Bhajans and Pushpanjali by students of Nrityalaya.
5.30 pm: Ananya G.M.L. Cultural Academy, Bengaluru, Managing Trustee Dr. R.V. Raghavendra will inaugurate the event. Kannada and Culture Department, Mysuru, Assistant Director Dr. M.D. Sudarshan will be the chief guest.
Noted music and dance critic Dr. Rama V. Bennur, Bharatanatyam Guru Vidu. Srilakshmi Kumar and music & gamaka exponent Vidu. Dharitri Ananda Rao will be felicitated on the occasion.
6.30 pm: Kolata-based on Dasarapada by students of Nrityalaya Trust.
6.45 pm: ‘Narthananjali’ based on Haridasa krithis by Sahachethana Natyalaya, Shivamogga (Direction: Nritya Guru Sahana Chethan); Dance feature ‘Maadhurya Mohana Ranga’ based on Sri Sripadaraja’s Suladi; Tillana on Purandaradasa (Composition: Dr. Tulasi Ramachandra) and Mangala.
March 5
5 pm: Valedictory. Suttur Seer Sri Shivarathri Deshikendra Swamiji will grace the occasion. Nrityalaya Trust Chairperson Dr. Tulasi Ramachandra’s book titled ‘Tulasipriya Narthana Guccha’ will be released by Saraswathi Samman and Padma Bhushan recipient Dr. S.L. Bhyrappa. Sangeetha Nataka Academy, New Delhi, Executive Committee Member Dr. Nagamani Srinath will speak about the book.
Internationally acclaimed violinists Mysore Brothers — Vid. Mysore Nagaraj and Vid. Dr. Mysore Manjunath — will be felicitated on the occasion.
6 pm: ‘Swaramantana’ – a special dance form of Karnataka by senior students of Nrityalaya.
6.15 pm: Violin concert by Mysore Brothers. They will be accompanied by Vid. Arjun Kumar on mridanga and Vid. Guruprasanna on ghata. It will be followed by dance-drama ‘Panchathathwa Darshana,’ Tillana and Mangala.
Instrumental ensemble: Guru Dr. Tulasi Ramachandra on natuvanga, Vidu. Dharitri Ananda Rao and Vid. Vinay Maanya on vocal, Vid. H.L. Shivashankaraswamy on mridanga, Vid. Krishnaprasad on flute and Vid. H.L. Ananthakrishna on rhythm pad.
