Mysuru: Nruthyathi Kalaashale will be hosting two special Bharatanatyam programmes on consecutive weekends — Anugraha and Samaagama-2026 — celebrating the beauty of tradition, artistic excellence and the timeless Guru-Shishya Parampara.
The celebrations begin with Anugraha on Aug. 30 at Vasundhara Bhavana, Kalandika, Saraswathipuram, at 5.30 pm.
Anugraha brings to the stage a remarkable five-generation artistic legacy. The highlight of the evening is ‘Kshathra Draupadi,’ a powerful thematic presentation by Karnataka Kalathilaka Guru Dr. Vasundhara Doraswamy. Dr. Kripa Phadke, Dr. Sheela Sridhar and Guru Sandesh Bhargav will be present as guests.
Samaagama-2026 will be held on Sept. 6, at Ganabharathi’s Ramagovinda Kalavedike in Kuvempunagar at 4.30 pm. Around 150 students, disciples and grand-disciples of Guru Anusha Varun will be celebrating the continuity of Bharatanatyam across generations. The fifth generation of the artistic lineage of Dr. Vasundhara will also take part.
Renowned Bharatanatyam Guru Sandesh Bhargav will be the chief guest. Musical ensemble for Samaagama: Guru Anusha Varun on nattuvanga, Vidu. Shylaja on vocals, Vid. Vikram Bharadawaj on mridanga and Vid. Samruddh Srinivas on flute.
