Mysore/Mysuru: Kala Sandesha Prathishtana has organised ‘Nruthyopasana 2026,’ a two-day Bharatanatyam Festival at Ganabharathi’s Ramagovinda Kalavedike in Kuvempunagar, on Jan. 31 and Feb. 1 at 6 pm.
Jan. 31: The inaugural ceremony will be attended by Savitha Ramesh, Chairperson, Kaynes Technology. The evening will feature a solo Bharatanatyam dance-drama titled ‘Moulyanidhi Bheemasena,’ choreographed by Guru Dr. Vasundhara Doraswamy and performed by Vid. Sandesh Bhargav. It promises an intense exploration of classical story-telling, marked by powerful abhinaya and deep-rooted Indian ethos.
Feb. 1: A solo Bharatanatyam performance by Vid. R. Pavan Kumar, a promising young artiste acclaimed for his technical finesse and expressive depth.
This will be followed by a grand Bharatanatyam dance-drama ‘Saptha Nadi Namana,’ choreographed by Vid. Sandesh Bhargav and Anusha Varun, and performed by his disciples along with the students of Anusha Varun, Sindhu Niranjan and M.T. Vasundhara. It brings alive the spiritual and cultural essence of India’s sacred rivers — Ganga, Yamuna, Godavari, Saraswati, Narmada, Sindhu, and Kaveri — through evocative choreography and rhythmic brilliance.
Both ‘Moulyanidhi Bheemasena’ and ‘Saptha Nadi Namana’ are conceptualised and scripted by Dr. Jyothi Shankar.
The production will be presented by a distinguished ensemble of Bharatanatyam artistes — Anusha Varun, Sindhu Niranjan, Akshatha Pramod, Shilpa Kantharaju, Vasundhara, Dr. Gunasheela Harsha, Lavanya Nagesh, Dr. Poornima Yathiraj, Dr. Prarthana, Vandana, Harshini Iyer, Shravya, Nithyashree, T.C. Bhoomika and Richa Dev.
