Mysore/Mysuru: NSS Foundation Day was celebrated at JSS Polytechnic in city on Sept. 24. Dr. M.G. Suresh, NSS Coordinator, University of Mysore (UoM), was the chief guest.
Speaking after inauguration, he called upon students to involve themselves in NSS activities effectively for their personality development. He said the motto of NSS is not only cleansing the environment but also the different social stigma posing problem for creating a clean society. He vividly explained the concept of NSS from its inception, the path traced and the development it has made till date.
In his presidential address, G. Ramalinganagowd, Principal of JSS Polytechnic, said students should involve themselves in NSS activities and utilise it for their all-round development.
Lecturers Dr. Ningaraju, Dr. Madhusudhan and Siddaraju, NSS Volunteers from UoM, presented NSS song, folk and patriotic songs. A folk dance was presented by “AVANI” group headed by Naveen, a final year student of Mechanical Department. B.S. Rajashekhar, Head, Department of Science, JSS Polytechnic, NSS Programme Coordinator K.B. Chandrashekhara Murthy, Co-coordinator S. Shruthi, NSS Volunteers and Polytechnic staff were present.
