NSS Unit holds ‘Road Safety’ awareness programme

Mysore/Mysuru: The NSS Unit of Seshadripuram Degree College, Hebbal Ring Road, in association with V.V. Puram Traffic Police Station, had organised a Road Safety Awareness Programme recently as part of the 32nd National Road Safety Month.

The guest speaker of the day, Aruna Kumari, Inspector, V.V. Puram Traffic Police Station, inaugurated the programme by watering a sapling and addressed the students.

She said awareness and enforcement are the key elements in order to maintain Road Safety by following traffic rules.

She highlighted the risk involved among youths who show negligence on road while driving without having Driving Licence (DL), Insurance and not following the traffic rules.

Further she interacted with students and she suggested some important safety measures to be implemented while driving like lane discipline, speed limit, distance in between, wearing helmets and seat belts.

Prof. K. Sowmya Erappa, Principal, Seshadripuram Degree College, Prof. Archana M. Swamy, Principal, Seshadripuram Independent PU College,  Dr. R. Raghavendra, NSS Co-ordinator, teaching and non-teaching staff and few Police officers from V.V. Puram Traffic Police Station took part in the event.
