Mysuru: A ‘Nudi Namana’ programme in memory of artist late Ramdas Adyantaya was organised by the Students Union of Chamarajendra Government College for Visual Arts (CAVA) at Maneyangala in Kalamandira premises here yesterday.
Speaking on the occasion, Central Fine Arts Academy retired Chairman C.S. Krishna Shetty hailed Ramdas as a multi-faceted person whose achievements cannot be listed.
Recalling his association of over four decades with Ramdas, he said that the death of Ramdas has created a vacuum in the field of Visual Arts.
Department of Kannada and Culture Retired Assistant Director M.G. Sadanandaiah said that Ramdas had introduced thousands of students to the field of art.
He recalled that Ramdas had created a new wave in the field of painting by advising students to carve a niche for themselves without imitating anyone.
Theatre Artiste Mime Ramesh said that Ramdas was instrumental in bringing CAVA and theatre together.

Photographer S. Thippeswamy, CAVA Principal Mahadeva Shetty, Retired Deans Deshpande, Basavaraj Musavalagi and faculty were present.
