Mysuru:  A ‘Nudi Namana’ programme was organised by District Kannada Sahitya Parishat at its premises here yesterday to pay tributes to writer and retired Principal of Vidyavardhaka PU College Prof. Shivaramu Kadanakuppe, who passed away recently.

Floral tributes were offered to a portrait of Prof. Kadanakuppe by the dignitaries present.

Speaking on the occasion, Litterateur Dr. C.P. Krishnakumar (CPK) said that Prof. Kadanakuppe always fought against social evils through his thought-provoking works.

District Congress President Dr. B.J. Vijayakumar, writers Prof.  C. Sarvamangala and Dr. P.K. Rajashekar also spoke.

District Kannada Sahitya Parishat  President Dr.Y.D. Rajanna, former President Manasa, Theatre Artiste Rajashekar Kadamba and others were present at the ‘Nudi Namana’.

At Vidyavardhaka College

A similar solemn programme was organised by Vidyavardhaka First Grade College at its premises on Seshadri Iyer Road here yesterday.

The teaching and administrative service of Prof. Kadanakuppe were remembered by the dignitaries.

College Principal Dr. S. Marigowda, Vidyavardhaka Institutions Hon. President Gundappa Gowda, Hon Secretary P. Vishwanath, Treasurer S.N. Lakshminarayan and others were present. A one minute silence was observed by the staff to pay respects to the departed professor.
