Chautala passed away in Gurugram following a cardiac arrest

Chandigarh: Indian National Lok Dal President and former Haryana Chief Minister Om Prakash Chautala died in Gurugram on Friday, a party spokesperson said. He was 89.

Chautala, a five-time Chief Minister of Haryana suffered a cardiac arrest at his Gurugram home and was rushed to a hospital but could not be saved, the spokesperson said.

He is survived by two sons- Abhay Singh Chautala and Ajay Singh Chautala. Chautala was the son of former Deputy Prime Minister of India Devi Lal, who had also served as a Chief Minister of Haryana earlier.
