Mysuru: Metagalli Police, following an order from a city Court, have registered a case against four persons for cheating a woman of Rs. 18.90 lakh on the pretext of getting her a site.

The woman, identified as 59-year-old Lucy George, is a resident of Note Mudran Nagar and the case has been registered against Umesh and Malligamma of Lokanayakanagar and Arogya Mary and Vinod Khanna of Kumbarakoppal.

Lucy was told that Malligamma and Umesh were selling their site for Rs. 19 lakh. When Lucy asked for the e-khata of the site, she was told that the e-khata would be given at the time of registration.

Meanwhile, Lucy’s son Anup Tony enquired about the site at the MCC and Mysuru Development Authority (MDA) offices where the officials told him that the site cannot be registered.

When Lucy asked the four persons to return her money, they failed to give back her money following which Lucy approached Metagalli Police on Dec. 19, 2025 and lodged a complaint. But Metagalli Police told Lucy that it was a civil case and she needs to approach the Court to solve the issue.
