Madikeri: One person has been arrested and a hunt is on for another accused, both of whom allegedly misbehaved with Sandalwood actor Harshika Poonacha at an engagement function in Madikeri on Thursday night.
According to sources, actors Harshika and Bhuvan Ponnanna were attending the function at a resort at Kadagadalu near Madikeri. A verbal duel broke out when Harshika asked one Bansy Nanaiah from Makkandur and Bipin Devaiah not to talk to her.
Actor Bhuvan is said to have stood by Harshika which irked Bansy and Bipin who got into a fight with Bhuvan. Bhuvan was injured and taken to the district hospital for first-aid.
Bhuvan and Harshika later filed a complaint with Madikeri Rural Police against Bansy and Bipin for misbehaving with Harshika.
Police immediately booked the duo under Sections 354, 324 and 326 of IPC and arrested Bansy Nanaiah.
They are on the lookout for Bipin. Harshika also appeared before Judicial Magistrate First Class (JMFC) Court in Madikeri and has given her statement.
