One killed, two injured as Bolero rams into bike

Hunsur:  A 17-year-old youth succumbed to injuries at a private hospital in city, while two others are undergoing treatment at different hospitals following a road accident near Devaraja Colony in the taluk last night.

While the deceased is Shivaji, son of Cheluvaraju, who was pursuing his 1st PUC at the Government PU College in Hanagodu of the taluk, the injured are 18-year-old Sandeep, a 2nd PUC student at the Government PU College at Hanagodu and Naveen of Honnenahalli and a degree student.

Yesterday afternoon, all the three left for Karanakuppe village on a Hero Honda Splendor bike (KA-01 C-6758) to load pumpkins. After completing their work, the trio left on their bike to their place at about 10 pm and when they were proceeding near Devaraja Colony, a Mahindra Bolero vehicle (KA-05 ND-1183), which was proceeding from Hanagodu to Panchavalli, collided head-on with the bike resulting in all the three sustaining fracture on their legs.

While Naveen was rushed to K.R. Hospital in Mysuru, Shivaji and Sandeep were rushed to a private hospital in Mysuru, where Shivaji succumbed to injuries last midnight. Hunsur Rural Police, who have registered a case in this regard, are investigating.
