Mysore/Mysuru: The Department of Mechanical Engineering, Vidyavardhaka College of Engineering (VVCE), in association with ISHRAE, Mysore Chapter, will be conducting one-week Faculty Development Programme (FDP) on “Heating, Ventilation, Air-conditioning & Refrigeration (HVAC&R)” from Aug. 3 to 8. 

This programme will be beneficial for faculty members, research scholars, HVAC&R practitioners and industry professionals who work in the discipline of Mechanical Engineering and also provide a unique opportunity to comprehend about HVAC&R. 

In this FDP, six resource persons will deliver the sessions (one session per day) and there will be no registration fee. On Aug. 3, there will be  a keynote address by Richie Mittal, National President, ISHRAE Headquarters, Delhi at 10.15 am. The resource persons for this FDP are Dr. B. Sadashive Gowda, Principal, VVCE, A. Ramesh, former Deputy Director, CFTRI,  A. Srinivas, BARC (RMP), Mysuru, Roddam Anish Simha, ASHRAE President, Bengaluru,  A. Madhukar, CEO, Climatics and Regional Director (South) and Dr.  Kasthurirengan, Professor, Indian Institute of Science, Bengaluru. The topics that will be covered in this FDP are Introduction to Refrigeration & Refrigerants, Refrigeration Cycles and Classification of Refrigeration Systems, Cascade Chillers for Low Temperature Applications, Ammonia Refrigeration, Installation, Service and Maintenance of HVAC&R Systems & Cryogenic Refrigeration. 

FDP Coordinator is Dr. K.B. Vinay, Deputy Dean, Academics (Autonomous) & Associate Professor, Department of Mechanical Engineering, VVCE. The Organizing Committee members are: Dr. B.C. Ashok (Dean – Students Welfare for Autonomous), Dr. K.S. Ravi (PG Coordinator), Dr. Khalid Imran, Dr. S.A. Mohan Krishna (Secretary – ISHRAE Mysore Chapter), Prof. Naveen Ankegowda, Prof. B.S. Nithyananda, T.A. Prabhakar (BARC, Mysuru), Anil Kumar Nadiger (Managing Director, Rachana Ener Care) and D.K. Dinesh Kumar (Project Engineer, KREDL, Mysuru). 

On this occasion, Dr. G.V. Naveen Prakash, Head, Department of Mechanical Engineering, VVCE, H.M. Sujatha, President, ISHRAE Mysore Chapter and P.V. Bharadwaj, Programme Coordinator, ISHRAE Mysore Chapter will be present. All sessions will be streamed live through streamyard on YouTube, according to a press release.
