One woman from each family must join Army

Mysuru:  “Serving the nation is a sacred duty. One woman from each family must join the Army,” opined S.V. Baby, ASI of 99th Battalion (CRPF), Hyderabad.

She was speaking after inaugurating the tenth anniversary celebrations of Nritya Vidyapeetha at Jaganmohan Palace in the city on Saturday (Nov. 9).

“Everybody today want a desk job and very few are thinking about serving their country. Our youngsters need to think beyond securing a job as a doctor or an engineer,” she added.

Narrating the events about how she joined the Army, she said “I attended Army selection camp held at Police Grounds of Mysuru and after clearing all the levels including the physical fitness test and later the screening exam at Bengaluru, I got trained at Madhya Pradesh. I have served in Srinagar, Delhi and other places across the country.”

Hundreds of students of Nritya Vidyapeetha showcased their talent with their Bharatanatyam. 

Kumar on nattuvanga, R. Shreya on vocal, M.V. Skanda on mridanga, K.S. Samruddha on flute and Vikram Bharadwaj on rhythm pad provided the orchestral support.

Head Constable of Paramilitary Force B. Rahamath Bi, Director C.N. Anita, Shobha Balakrishna, Bhuvaneshwari and others were present.
