Online Coding Contest held

Mysore/Mysuru: The Department of Information Science & Engineering (ISE) of GSSS Institute of Engineering & Technology for Women (GSSSIETW), Mysuru, had organised the 5th National-level Coding Competition ‘CODE IGNITER – 2020’ in association with Computer Society of India, Mysore Chapter, recently.

Achyuthan Panduranga, Business Lead, Chief of Staff, Compute Software Engineering & India Centre of Excellence (CoE), Hewlett Packard Enterprise, Bengaluru, was the chief guest.

He addressed all the participants by emphasising about the importance for such technical competition which provides a platform for students of various streams of IT to showcase their talent, present their own work, share and exchange ideas with their counterparts.  

He also advised the students to know the power of code and to tie it up with innovation. He advised the students to propose the real world problems and bring a solution to make this world a better place to live. He quoted “Start with what you have, run with what you know, finish with the best you can be, nothing less.”

Achyuthan Panduranga assured to help students to help solving the real world problems.

Dr. M. Shivakumar, Principal, GSSSIETW, Mysuru, highlighted the importance of students participating in competition which provides a stimulating environment for their professional growth and advised the students to adapt to the fast-changing technologies. 

R. Madhushree of 7th Sem, Department of ISE, GSSSIETW, rendered invocation. Dr. Reshma Banu, Convener, Prof. & Head, Dept. of ISE, welcomed the gathering and highlighted the importance of ‘CODE IGNITER 2020.’ G. Soumya Dath, Asst. Professor, Dept. of ISE, proposed a vote of thanks. The event was co-ordinated by Ayesha Taranum and M. Anand, Asst. Professors, Department of ISE. 

Around 275 participants from various colleges of Bihar, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh participated in the Code Debugging, Online Quiz and Project/Business Innovation ideas. Events were judged online by the experts invited from the industry. 

P. Chaya, Assistant Professor, Dept. of ISE, compered. Winners were awarded with appreciation certificates and e-certificates were provided to all participants.
